Welcome

A bit of my life in San Francisco. I've been here half my life, yet still find the city exciting and challenging.

Hjir sjochsto myn libben troch de fototastellins thús yn San Fransisko. Neat bysûnder, neat bûtengewoan. Lykas it is. Kalifornje hat my thús mear as 25 jier west. Hja bliuwt noch in heimsinnich geast. Ek wol ik jimme sjen litten mear fan de wyk, mei de pleatslikke ynwenners en treasors. Tige tank foar it besyk. Graach in boadskip skriuwe. Ik sil myn bêst dwaan jimme te antwurdzje. Dit doch ik út 'e grap....

Alms for the poor?

I must have missed something along the way...

Grace Cathedral--not in the neighborhood but nothing is very far.

Entry to the basilica at Mission Dolores.

Mision San Francisco de Asis and the newer basilica. The mission church was founded by Father Francisco Palou in 1776 and built by the Ohlone indians. The larger, more ornate basilica was constructed after the 1906 earthquake.

St Matthew's German Evangelical Luthern church/Evangelisches Luth. Matthäus Gemeinde...still has German service after all these years. It is situated across Dolores St. from the Mission.

The name translates to Golden Gate. The synagogue is across 16th St from the Mission.

St. Nicholas, a tiny Russian Orthodox cathedral near Church St on 15th St.
